Yoga nidra is guided rest, done lying down, with nothing required of you but staying reasonably awake. It is the only practice I have found that people with genuinely no time will still do. The form I teach is simple and unadorned: a rotation of attention through the body, some work with breath, and a long settled period. No visualisation you have to believe in, no intention-setting if you would rather not. Most people come for sleep or for a nervous system that will not stand down. A thirty-minute nidra is not a substitute for a night's sleep, and I am careful not to claim it is, but it is a real recovery tool and it is remarkably easy to keep doing.
